Chemical Stripping
Our chemical stripping services involve the removal of paint finishes and other coatings from a surface using chemicals and solvents.
Chemical stripping is designed to remove all traces of a coating, exposing the substrate underneath. It works by penetrating and softening the existing coating causing it to swell resulting in the layer of coating to separate from the substrate.
At PCS we have the ability to remove paint from a variety of metal substrates including mild steel, wrought iron, stainless steel, sheetmetal and small aluminium parts.
This form of paint and/or coating removal is particularly impressive when you need to remove finishes from difficult to get to areas and often forms part of the restoration process for cabinets, garden furniture and intricate auto parts for cars and motorcycles without harming or distressing the structure. All metal surfaces need to be free of protective oils or lubricants before being powder coated and chemical stripping can help in this preparation process.
Many of our clients use our chemical stripping services to assist in the surface preparation for metal fabrication as well reject parts.
Metal cleaning is exceedingly complex. Asking a specialist like PCS to assist with your chemical stripping requirements removes the need for hazardous chemicals in your workplace and the worry of what to do with the waste and water run-off from any paint removal procedure.
Importantly, PCS is environmentally minded and follow all Australian standards and regulations with regard to the chemicals they use.
